As a Hypnotherapist and Stress Management Specialist, my goal is to assist you in changing the way you experience and respond to the sources of stress in your life. Now, I am not sure what brought you here today. Whether things are slightly out of balance for you right now, or maybe you are in a tough spot at the moment. Maybe you are overwhelmed, stressed and exhausted and going non-stop for way too long. Maybe you got knocked off your game by the burden of responsibilities, set backs or disappointments. A warm welcome to you because at one time or another we are all affected by stress. Whether during busy and hectic times at work, when managing our finances, disciplining our children, or coping with challenging relationships at home or in the workplace, stress is everywhere. And while some stress is actually beneficial, too much stress can wear us down and make us ill, both mentally and physically.
but too much stress can be detrimental.
Stress is not altogether a bad thing. In small doses, when kept to a minimum, stress can actually be a good thing, helping us focus and meet deadlines and can help us accomplish our daily tasks quite efficiently . However prolonged exposure to stress can lead to serious physical and mental health problems.
Our bodies are designed to handle controlled amounts of stress. But, it is not equipped to handle long-term, chronic stress without our suffering adverse consequences.
Unfortunately, traditional medicine struggles to cope with the common ailments of our times - stress, anxiety and depression to name but a few– offering little besides anti-depressants. Fortunately, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Hypnosis have been found to present powerful, natural and effective alternatives. CBT is also an evidence-based solution that does not take years of sitting on sofas to bear fruit.
