Our life purpose is to be happy.


No one can rightly argue as to the truth of this simple statement. However, when we feel stressed, depressed, worried or anxious, our ability to experience happiness and to create life experiences that we truly enjoy becomes compromised.

My hope as you begin is that by the time you are through reading, you will find the information shared on my website a useful introduction to helping you take your first steps towards healing the stress that is affecting you at the moment.

Now, I am not sure what brought you here today. Whether things are slightly out of balance for you right now, or maybe you are in a tough spot at the moment. Maybe you are overwhelmed, stressed and exhausted and going non-stop for way too long. Maybe you got knocked off your game by the burden of responsibilities, set backs or disappointments. Now though, you are ready to deal with the issues that are affecting you so that you can take your life to the next level.

No matter what brought you here or what you are looking to accomplish as far dealing with stress and stress-related symptoms are concerned, there is one thing I want you to know and it is that right now, in this very moment, you are here for a reason. I also want you to know that you were born with the innate power and ability to heal and to create change in your own life and also in the in the life of others. No other person has, or ever will have the unique combination of talent and strength and insight that you have and I know that you can create a life you truly love.

Perhaps you have enjoyed a certain level of success and enjoyed good health and well-being in the past, but now things are messy, they are difficult and they are painful. My name is Evelyne Gilles and I am a fully bilingual (French and English ) Cognitive Behavioural hypnotherapist and I specialize in the treatment of stress and stress-related disorders such as anxiety, insomnia and depression.

At one time or another we are all affected by stress. Whether during busy and hectic times at work, when managing our finances, disciplining our children, or coping with challenging relationships at home or in the workplace, stress is everywhere. And while some stress is actually beneficial, too much stress can wear us down and make us ill, both mentally and physically.


Stress is key for survival,
but too much stress can be detrimental.


Stress is not altogether a bad thing. When kept to a minimum, it can help us accomplish our daily tasks quite efficiently and can also serve to prevent us from getting hurt. In fact, our bodies are designed to handle controlled amounts of stress. But, it is not equipped to handle long-term, chronic stress without our suffering adverse consequences.

Unfortunately, traditional medicine struggles to cope with the common ailments of our times - stress, anxiety and depression to name but a few– offering little besides anti-depressants. Fortunately, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Hypnosis have been found to present powerful, natural and effective alternatives. CBT is also an evidence-based solution that does not take years of sitting on sofas to bear fruit.

    The Importance of Resilience Building in Overcoming Stress


    Being resilient does not mean that you will never experience stress. It means that when a stressful situations do arise, you will be able to adapt to them, to cope with them, and also to recover quickly from any psychological impact the stressful situations may have caused.

    I practise Cognitive Behavioural Hypnotherapy (CBH) which combines hypnotherapy with Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT). The combination of CBT and Hypnosis creates a powerful treatment solution that can help you manage stress and other stress-related conditions, by changing the way you think, feel and behave.

    Cognitive Behavioural Hypnotherapy is an enjoyable and relaxing experience which allows you to access your full potential with relatively little effort and in a short time. It is most commonly used to treat stress and anxiety, but has also proven very useful for other mental and physical health problems as well. By using the latest advancements in CBT Techniques, I can help you easily and quickly learn a new approach to positive personal change.

    Rest assured that during the process, you are in full control all the time. You cannot be made to do anything that you do not want to do (unlike in the case of "stage hypnosis" as shown on television, where individuals are seen to be made to behave in uncharacteristically strange ways!)


    Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) forms the basis of most Resiliency-Building Approaches, has the Strongest Evidence Base for Effectiveness of any of the talking therapies, and is an approved treatment for stress-related disorders by the British Medical Association (BMA), the American Medical Association (AMA) and the National Institute for Care Excellence (NICE).

    An evidence-based approach - "does it work?"


    I adopt an evidence-based approach because I believe that all my clients deserve to know that the treatments I provide are effective.
    I also believe that good therapy is common sense therapy. It shouldn't be mysterious or mystical or include unnecessary ideas or theories.
    That is why I explain and teach self-hypnosis to my clients according to known principles in psychology and physiology.
